Kamba belongs to the Central-Kenya Group of Bantu (Guthrie E55) and is spoken in an area southwest of Nairobi, Kenya.
The 1989 Kenya population figures note 2,448,302 with a "tribal affiliation" of Kamba. World Almanac (1998) estimates 3 million total speakers of Kamba. Voegelin and Voegelin (1977) note 612,000 speakers.
Kamba is a major language in Kenya and is broadcast over the Voice of Kenya.
The orthography status of Kamba is unknown as of this writing.
It is not known at this time how many sets of materials will be required.
