The Center for Advanced Study of International Development (CASID) at Michigan State University is a multidisciplinary unit in the College of Social ScienceOpens in new window organized in cooperation with the Office of the Dean of International Studies and ProgramsOpens in new window.

CASID promotes and coordinates the study of issues related to international development from the perspective of the social sciences and liberal arts.

CASID and the Women and International Development Program (WID) at MSU have been designated by the U.S. Department of EducationOpens in new window as a National Resource Center in International Studies and receive funding under Title VI of the Higher Education Act of 1965.

CASID provides assistance to College of Social Science faculty seeking external funding for cross-unit, cross-disciplinary international development research and project activities in collaboration with the Office of International DevelopmentOpens in new window and the Institute of International AgricultureOpens in new window.
