Accountability and Canadian Government Posted: March 21, 2003
The University of Guelph is offering an online degree-credit course titled "Accountability and Canadian Government" this summer. The course examines the inter-related issues of accountability and democracy as they effect, and are affected by, the Government of Canada. has released a new module in the history & culture section:
Native Peoples of the Great Lakes Region.

Indians, or Native Peoples, were the original inhabitants of
the Great Lakes region. Approximately 120 tribes and First Nations have occupied
the Great Lakes basin over the course of history. Through this series of photo
essays, learn about the history, livelihood and oral tradition of these proud
peoples. The Education And Curriculum Homesite (TEACH Great Lakes), the education
component of the Great Lakes Information Network, focuses on advancing Great
Lakes-related educational materials for the broad audience of educators and
students in the Great Lakes region and beyond. TEACH Great Lakes can be found

New Website Provides Information on International Conferences
Activities and resources
related to the 2000 OAS General Assembly meeting in Windsor, ON Canada, June
4-6, 2000, and the Summit of the Americas to be held in Quebec City in the Fall

New Website Provides Early Canadian Literature On Line
Early Canadiana Online (ECO) provides full-text of over
3,200 books and pamphlets (one-third of which are in French) originally published
between the 16th and early 20th centuries. Subject areas include Canadian literature,
women's history, travel and exploration, the history of French Canada and native
studies. ECO is a collaborative project of the Canadian Institute for Historical
Microreproductions (CIHM), the National Library of Canada, Laval University
Library, Bibliothèque nationale du Québec, and the University of Toronto
Library.

(1 bottle) of alcohol (must be 21 years or older), 200 cigarettes (1
carton) and 100 cigars tax and duty free. Family members may combine
their tax and duty free allowances. Allowance may only be claimed once for every
30 day visit. Any purchases in excess of US $400.00 allowance may be subject
to duties and taxes
