Getting Started
Once a student has decided to study abroad, one of the next important steps is to find funding. This may seem overwhelming at first, but the student will find there are many different sources of funding.
- Visit your home institution's Financial Aid office.
- Complete a FAFSA - many scholarships will not even consider a student if this has not been completed.
- Apply for federal grants, loans and scholarships.
- Apply for study abroad scholarships.
The student should be sure to consider cost beyond the program and housing fees; this will include (but may not be limited to) passport, airfare, local transportation, meals and incidentals.
