Advanced photography workshop, students must have previous photographic experience. They should be interested in documenting or producing artwork linked to the social realities of Africa. This course is not a "photo safari," a shoot of wild animals and scenery. Environmental Mgmt. & Media in Ghana. Learn about Ghana's history and culture, including the history of Ghana's connections with the USA. Observe first-hand the impact of the media in a developing democracy, including the role of the media as the voice of civil society in protecting the environment. A half-day pre-departure class in mid to late May includes a Ghanian lunch. The 5-week program in Ghana begins with a tour of southern Ghana, followed by 4 weeks of class work and internships/special projects in Legon and Accra.
