African Cultural Week: Gala Night

(Other / Not Specified)

Gala Night showcases the positive aspects of Africa and its people to both MSU and East Lansing Communities. The theme for the 2009 Culture Week is: From Sunrise to Sunset; The Harvest is Ripe! This theme embraces the idea that African nations were and still are progressing towards greater achievements. The celebration will include presentations of African music, dances, skits, displays of African Artifact, and a student panel discussing contemporary African issues. We also intend on having a keynote speaker from an African nation to speak during the gala, the first day of the Culture week, which includes a dinner consisting of our special African delicacies.
