Eubanks Attend NCIV Meeting
William and Leslie Watson-Eubank received a travel grant to attend the NCIV - Midwest Regional Meeting in Indianapolis, Indiana, May 19-21, 2005. They both attended the eCVIP Fast Track. Bill also went to Involving Local Business and Board Development, while Leslie went to Democracy Building and Cultural Programming.
Leslie spoke with Carmen Marreno, Chief of Community Relations Branch of the State Department, and with Helen Szpankowski, Program Officer for the East Asia and Pacific Branch. Bill spoke with Stafford Kay, director of ePrograms and grants. They had dinner with Program Officer for Europe and Eurasia Branch, Kimberly Havenner. She was moderator of the Democracy Building session. Leslie spoke to her about the ease of getting around in Lansing to visit courts, legal libraries, every level of government, and the Legislative Service Bureau.
Leslie said, "Attending conferences of this caliber and developing relationships is a way to benefit MSU and our community."
