Fourteen outstanding Global Spartans will be recognized during the International Awards Ceremony on Wednesday, April 24 at 3:30 p.m. at the MSUFCU Club on the 4th floor of Spartan Stadium. The event is open to all globally minded members of the extended Spartan community.

We would like to build a lending library to give prospective applicants and Peace Corps invitees resources about service as seen through the eyes of RPCVs. We have five books already and would like to get to 25 by May 1. 

While our wish list is posted on Amazon, we also encourage you to consider ordering books from a local book shop such as Schuler Books (Okemos) or Hooked (Lansing). If you prefer to donate and have us handle the purchasing, please visit our online giving link!

GenCen Faculty Fellows Program: Call for Applications

The GenCen Faculty Fellows teach Women's & Gender Studies (WS) courses and receive support for their scholarship in gender, sexuality, and feminist studies.

Fellows join the GenCen from a number of Colleges across the university. We currently have openings for faculty from the College of Arts and Letters and the College of Social Science.

Fellows will teach one course per year for a two-year commitment, starting with the 2025-2026 academic year, and each will receive $3000 annually for their research and scholarship. 

Interested faculty should submit the following materials:

• Cover letter describing their training in and connection to women's and gender studies and their interest in teaching WS courses.
• Current CV
• Sample syllabus
• Statement from their home department chair indicating unit support for the faculty member to serve as a GenCen fellow.

The most common Fulbright programs to which MSU students and recent graduates apply are administered by the Institute of International Education (IIE) and funded by the US Department of State. 

Participants will learn about the English Teaching Assistant, Open Study, and Research grants offered by IIE. The presenter will give an overview of the programs, discuss eligibility and benefits, then cover the various application requirements. 

The session will be a Zoom meeting, as opposed to a webinar, so there will be opportunities for interaction and ample time for Q&A.

Make your application stand out from the rest! Attend this online workshop to learn how to browse Volunteer openings, find the right program, and strengthen your Peace Corps application. You will have an opportunity to ask questions about service, learn steps you can take to improve your chances, and gain valuable tips to guide you through the application process.
