First-Time Traveler Workshop

This OPTIONAL workshop will review the basics from packing, flying, budgeting, communication, health, safety, and more.  Staff from StudentUniverse, the Office for Education Abroad, and the Office for Global, Health, Safety and Security will be presenting and available for questions.  Former EA students will also be on-hand to share their experience and advice.

MSU students and recent graduates are invited to this Fulbright information session, which will be presented by MSU's Fulbright Program Advisor, Joy Campbell. The most common Fulbright programs to which MSU students and recent graduates apply are administered by the Institute of International Education (IIE) and funded by the US Department of State. Participants will learn about the English Teaching Assistant, Open Study, and Research grants offered by IIE. 

The presenter will give an overview of the programs, discuss eligibility and benefits, then cover the various application requirements.

In conjunction with the International Decade of Indigenous Languages, GETSEA and the Bophana Center present four short films by Indigenous Cambodian filmmakers on the themes of "Healing, Memory & Care."

MSU will join over 20 universities across North America to watch the film simultaneously and have a Zoom-based discussion with Director Emily Hong and Producer Maggie Lemere following the screening.

This event is co-funded by the Title VI National Resource Center grant managed by the MSU Asian Studies Center and is organized by the Graduate Education and Training in Southeast Asia (GETSEA).
