Description
David J. Firestein is EWI's Vice President of the Strategic Trust-Building Initiative and Track 2 Diplomacy; in this capacity, he leads EWI's China , Russia and US programs. In his Foreign Service career, he served at the U.S. embassies in Beijing (5 years) and Moscow (4 years).
In the lecture, he will discuss the economic, political and geopolitical mega-trends (three in each category) that are complicating the bilateral relationship as we move into the fifth decade of U.S.-China contact in the modern era (2012 to 2022)
