Please join the Department of Forestry this Friday for a seminar on forestry and climate change featuring Dr. Mubariq Ahmad, Adviser for Climate Change Policy at the World Bank Indonesia Office and Chair of the Strategy Working Group with the Presidential Task Force on REDD+.
REDD+ is the UN program focusing on Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and Forest Degradation Plus. Dr. Ahmad is a graduate of the Department of Agricultural Economics (AFRE).His seminar is titled “Addressing Knowledge Gaps in REDD+ Implementation in Indonesia.”
MUBARIQ AHMAD holds a Ph.D.in Natural Resources and Environmental Economics (Michigan State University,1997), a MA in International Trade and Finance (Economics Department, Columbia University, New York, 1990), and a Bachelor in Economics from University of Indonesia (1985). While teaching at the Faculty of Economics, University of Indonesia, Dr. Ahmad has served in international editorial board of Elsevier’s Journal of Forest Policy and
Economics since 2000. Dr. Ahmad currently works as Adviser for Climate Change Policy at the World Bank Indonesia Office and leads the Strategy Working Group with Presidential Task Force on REDD+. Dr. Ahmad is active in several
forums on green economy.
