Biography: Nicole Namy is the International Sponsored Student Advisor at OISS. She graduated from MSU with degrees in English/Education. She has worked in East Lansing within the field of special education and prior in the Detroit area administering youth programming for a community center and area schools. Nicole was born in Lebanon, is fluent in Arabic and has a flare for yummy Lebanese cooking! She also has a great passion for traveling and is excited to work with international sponsored students at Michigan State University.

Biography: Dr. Sheba Onchiri is currently serving as the academic advisor and student support specialist with The MasterCard Foundation Scholars Program at Michigan State University (MSU). In her current position, she provides academic advising and facilitates the Scholars' cultural transition to the US.

Dr. Onchiri received her bachelor’s degree in education from Kenyatta University, Kenya, in 1991, a post-graduate diploma in gender and development from the University of Nairobi in 2000, and her master’s degree in women’s studies from the San Francisco State University in 2006. She completed her studies by earning a doctorate in educational administration from MSU in 2013.

Prior to her position with The MasterCard Foundation Scholars Program at MSU, Dr. Onchiri worked at St. Vincent Catholic Charities’ Refugee Services Department as an employment trainer. She was also an adjunct professor at the Davenport University, where she taught a course on diversity in society.

Biography: Kelsey Pink, Office of Study Abroad Budget and Financial Accountant, is responsible for overseeing the development, approval, and implementation of all faculty-related program budgets, including the preparation of travel advances and the reconciliation of programs upon return. Kelsey maintains reports regarding financial activities associated with education abroad programming and works closely with a team of program coordinators to develop, implement, and streamline processes and procedures related to program budgeting.

Originally from Troy, Michigan, Kelsey graduated from Michigan State University with both her Bachelor’s and Master’s in Accounting. After spending a few years in public accounting serving as a tax accountant at Plante & Moran, PLLC, she came back home to her alma mater and joined the Office of Study Abroad in November 2016.
