Rita Kothari is a Gujarati and English language author and translator from Gujarat, India. In an attempt to preserve memories and her identity as Sindhi, she wrote several books on partition and its effects on people. She translated several Gujarati works in English and edited some.  Her books include Translating India (2003), The Burden of Refuge: The Sindhi Hindus of Gujarat (2007), Unbordered Memories (2009).
