Every
year, ISP's Community Volunteers for International Programs (CVIP) sponsors
the MSU Global Festival. The 13th Annual Global Festival, held on the
afternoon of Sunday, November 15, 1998, drew more than 6,500 children,
students, adults, and seniors for a colorful afternoon of food, dance,
music, and other cultural activities. In addition to highlighting over
30 MSU international student groups and demonstrating to the community
MSU's strong international commitment, the event was also a fund raiser.
Although admission is free, sales of international food and gift items
generate money for scholarships for international student spouses. At
the 1998 festival, more than $4,400 was raised.
The 14th Annual Global Festival will be held from noon until 5:00 p.m.
on Sunday, November 14, 1999. For information about this and other MSU
international events, visit the International Studies and Programs calendar
on the Web at http://www.isp.msu.edu/calendar/ (http://www.isp.msu.edu/calendar/)
