LCTLs

Glew Appointed LCTL Coordinator

Margo Glew has been appointed as the first coordinator of MSU's Less Commonly Taught Languages (LCTL) Program. Her duties include supporting traditional instruction in LCTLs, coordinating supervised tutorials in LCTLs, research and development of new models and templates for teaching LCTLs, and promoting the teaching of LCTLs through nontraditional and technology-enhanced means.

Glew did her undergraduate work at the University of Wisconsin in secondary education, with emphases in economics, history, and political science. As a Peace Corps volunteer in Niger, she taught English (and learned Hausa). She earned a master's degree in teaching English as a second language and a doctorate in second-language acquisition, both from Michigan State University, and brings extensive experience as a language teacher, teacher trainer, and program administrator to her current position.
