New Appointments - International Business Center / MSU-CIBER

Tomas M. HultTomas M. Hult was appointed director of MSU's International Business Center (IBC) and Center for International Business Education and Research (MSU-CIBER) in January 2001. He also has a faculty appointment as associate professor in MSU's Department of Marketing and Supply Chain Management, where he teaches graduate courses in international business, global operations, and international business research. Hult came to MSU from Florida State University, where he had been director of international business for the previous four years.

Hult received his Ph.D. in business administration from the University of Memphis in 1995. He has published more than 60 articles on international business strategy, has held elected positions in several professional associations, serves on ten different journal editorial review boards, and has consulted, conducted research, and given talks in numerous countries. His current research interests include global knowledge management, global strategic marketing, and global supply chain management.

Immediately upon joining IBC/MSU-CIBER, Hult began working closely with MSU-CIBER Executive Director Tamer Cavusgil on the competitive grant application to the U.S. Department of Education that resulted in the extension of MSU-CIBER as a National Resource Center for the 2002-2006 cycle. He is also collaborating with Cavusgil on a $182,984 USDE eLearning grant during the 2001-2003 period. And he is instrumental in supporting the continued development of MSU's globalEDGE, a global business knowledge Web portal for business executives, public policy makers, scholars, and students at http://globaledge.msu.edu/index.asp
