Those interested in international business issues should mark their calendars for September 14th, as Honorable David Adelman, U.S. Ambassador to Singapore, will be coming to MSU.

Traveling to East Lansing to speak at the Global Business Club of Mid-Michigan program titled “Why Singapore? Why Southeast Asia? Why now?”, hosted at the MSU Union Ballroom, Adelman’s presentation will be one part of a program that will outline business opportunities in the fast-growing Asian marketplace as well as Singapore’s role in providing business expansion for companies based in the United States.

The program boasts other impressive speakers, including Weisheng Lee, the Regional Director of Eastern Americas Singapore Economic Development Board and Boon Ho Toh, the Center Director of International Enterprises Singapore, who will both offer an economic overview of Singapore and its role in the rapidly expanding Asian economy. Patrick Santillo, Senior Commercial officer, U.S. commercial Service, U.S. Embassy Singapore, will share why now is the time to be entering the Singapore Market. Finally, Michigan businessmen Robert Artuso of Neogen, Scott R. Pautuk of Dawn Food, and Steve Polonis of Dongan Electric Manufacturing Company, all of whom export to Singapore and southeast Asia, will share their best practices as part of a panel discussion.

Organized by MSU’s Center for International Business Education and Research (CIBER), the GB Club is co-sponsored by Foster, Swift, Collins and Smith, P.C., the Greater Lansing Regional Chamber of Commerce, The Greater Lansing Business Monthly, Lansing Community College, MSU Center for Advanced Study of International Development (CASID) , Center for Gender in Global Context (GenCen), and the MSU College of Law. The monthly GB Club luncheons and corresponding seminars provide outstanding speakers and relaxed networking opportunities for anyone interested in international business issues.
