Tri – University Partnership to Advance Understanding of Veterinary Medicine

Posted By: Kyle Mulder    Published: Thursday, 26 Apr 2012

Along with faculty from Makerere University in Uganda and Tamil Nadu Animal and Veterinary Sciences University in India, MSU faculty are bringing together leading researchers, educators and outreach specialists in veterinary medicine to address shared concerns with human, livestock and wildlife interfacing.

At a meeting in Uganda, representatives of the three universities discussed collaboration and future projects examining human and animal health delivery systems, livestock production, stakeholder outreach programs, wildlife preservation and tourism in the three areas. John Kaneene, University Distinguished Professor of large animal clinical sciences at MSU, hopes the collaboration will help address concerns with public health challenges and serve as a platform for the development and dissemination of teaching materials.
