Below are the requirements that all GSEP students must meet before joining the program and during the program.
  • Provide 2 passport-sized photos: one for VIPP and another for OISS(Office of International Students and Scholars).
  • Provide sufficient information about themselves to VIPP, such as an accurate application, current transcript, certificate of enrollment, financial statement, and statement of purpose prior to their arrival.
  • Take the ELC Placement Test immediately after their arrival unless they can provide a TOEFL score of 550 (213 CBT) or higher, with no subscore less than 19.
  • Live in an undergraduate dormitory at MSU, excluding Owen Graduate Hall, during your stay at MSU.
  • Have a meal plan (minimum of 10 meals per week) at the dormitory.
  • Live with roommates from another country.
  • Attend your classes with an attendance rate of 90% or higher.
  • Bring your bill stub to the VIPP office as soon as you receive it from the Controller's Office.
  • Submit an essay before leaving MSU.
  • Report any travel during breaks and departure date to VIPP staff.
  • Students who will attend one or more academic courses should check the health insurance requirements with the VIPP staff.
  • Students may be expelled because of misconduct.
