Professor Ayoob is University Distinguished Professor Emeritus of International Relations, Michigan State University; Non-Resident Senior Fellow, Center for Global Policy, Washington DC; columnist for the National Interest (Washington DC), the Hindu (India), and The Strategist (Australia). He has authored or edited fifteen books and over a hundred research articles analyzing the security of post-colonial states, political Islam, the Middle East, and South Asia. The second edition of his book The Many Faces of Political Islam: Religion and Politics in Muslim Societies will be published in January 2020 by the University of Michigan Press. This edition is co-authored with Danielle Lussier of Grinnell College.
