Syria Consortium

Michigan State University has joined the Institute for International Education Syria Consortium for Higher Education in Crisis, which provides Syrian students the opportunity to continue or begin their academic studies.

About the IIE Syria Consortium

The crisis in Syria has created an academic emergency, with the breakdown of higher education within the country and major obstacles facing Syrian students and scholars. In response, IIE is leading a consortium of 60 higher education institutions around the world that have committed support for Syrian students and scholars, primarily in the form of full and partial scholarships.

As part of the consortium, MSU has agreed to waive tuition for qualified Syrian students; the IIE will provide up to $50,000 to cover students’ living expenses (room and board, books, etc.).

Applicants must MSU admission requirements. All applications are reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
