For the first time, MSU joined more than twenty other U.S. universities this summer to take part in the annual American Universities’ China Association (AUCA) career fairs in Shenzhen, Shanghai and Beijing. The fairs attracted more than 3,000 talents from top U.S. universities, including close to 100 MSU graduates and current students. Overseas returnees had some fantastic opportunities to interact with 138 leading employers over the three weekends in three Chinese cities. Internship and full-time positions were made available by some well known employers such as Bloomberg, Uniliver, Dell, GE Health, Ford, Demala, Bosch, PWC, EY, Deloitte, Alibaba Entertainment, Bytedance, BOE Technology, Suning and many more. Similar to previous years, jobs in IT, Finance/Investment, Business, Retail, Manufacturing and Education/Training have the most opportunities.
“AUCA career events provide a great platform for U.S. universities’ professionals such as career, alumni services, marketing and recruitment to learn more about China’s employment market and connect with employers in China so we can effectively bridge our talents as well as our curriculum with the employers. With about 4,800 Chinese students on campus, we are keen to explore opportunities like the AUCA career fairs to assist MSU students’ career development in China,” commented Dr. Xinyu Wu, Co-Director of MSU Office of China Program (OCP), who attended this year’s events in Shanghai and Beijing on behalf of MSU. The career fairs were made available at no cost to MSU students and alumni by joint efforts of MSU Career Services, Office for International Advancement, the Broad College of Business and OCP.
