We believe when you reach across disciplines, institutions and boundaries you can harness talent and bright ideas from around the world to address the world's most pressing problems and most promising opportunities.

Building a World of Good

We have ambitious goals, building a world of good. Therefore, we depend on your social, intellectual, and financial engagement. Your generous support enables us to conduct important research and provide impactful international opportunities for students and faculty.

Michigan State University’s international engagement and global orientation strengthens the entire university’s research, education, and outreach. It also contributes to a campus that is rich with voices and cultures from across the United States and around the world. We have pioneered a collaborative approach in which MSU-affiliated people hold key positions in researching and attempting to solve just about every significant global challenge the planet faces today: food security, sustainable environment, health and nutrition, education, and more. Independent observers of global importance—from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation to the MasterCard Foundation to the U.S. Agency for International Development—recognize the effectiveness of our collaborative approach and are funding large programs through MSU. So are government research and funding agencies like the National Science Foundation and National Institutes of Health.

International Studies and Programs has been the pioneer in bringing global perspectives to the university and the MSU perspective to the world for a half-century. With our partnership approach, we are leading the way among U.S. higher education institutions to create networks to bring the brightest minds together to advance the world’s most promising opportunities and solve the world’s most pressing problems.

We are poised to do so much more. With additional funding, we can bring our proven network partnership model to even greater scale. Your support can accelerate MSU’s effectiveness on a global front, and help the university and the state of Michigan play an important role in organizing the global knowledge partnerships needed to improve well-being in Michigan and around the world.
