MSU opens 2009 international photo contest
Published: Tuesday, 25 Aug 2009
International Studies and Programs and the Michigan State University Alumni Association have opened the call for entries to Global Focus, an annual international photo competition. Submissions are due Oct. 1.
Launched in 1999, Global Focus aims to recognize MSU faculty, staff, students and alumni who have captured memorable images from around the world and are interested in sharing their photographs with the MSU campus. To date, more than 200 awards have been granted.
Entries must be taken outside the United States by MSU faculty, staff, students or alumni on business, personal or study abroad travel. Winners will be announced in November as part of International Education Week festivities. Photos will be placed in gallery frames for display in MSU's International Center, the MSUAA office and various campus locations.
In order to make the contest accessible to all members of the MSU family, including the 40,000 international alumni and expatriates, ISP and MSUAA will spread the word via social network sites, Web sites and throughout campus offices.
To enter the competition and to learn about rules and eligibility, visit the Global Focus Web site at http://www.isp.msu.edu/awards/photocontest/. An online gallery of previous winners is also available on the Web site.
For more information or questions about the competition, please e-mail Stephanie Motschenbacher at motsche3@msu.edu or call (517) 884-2134.
