A Michigan State University student group known as ONE MSU is currently involved in a friendly competition to determine which university's student body has the most effective global poverty-fighting advocacy efforts.
This week, ONE MSU is competing with 11 other schools across the U.S. for not only for bragging rights as the official ONE Champion, but also for the opportunity to direct a $10,000 donation to a ONE partner organization of their choice.
ONE MSU would like to send the $10K to strengthen education in Africa.
ONE is a grassroots campaign and advocacy organization backed by more than 2 million people who are committed to the fight against extreme poverty and preventable disease, particularly in Africa. Cofounded by Bono and other campaigners, ONE is nonpartisan and works closely with African policy makers and activists.

During the school year, students have been earning points and recognition for MSU by participating in different actions and monthly challenges, including advocating for important legislation, educating people on campus about challenges to international development, and raising the visibility of ONE and the issues the organization champions.
