International Awards nominations due Dec. 15

Nominations for the 2012 International Awards are due 5 pm. Dec. 15. The ceremony will be held March 21, 2012.

Following are International Awards categories:

Ralph Smuckler Award for Advancing International Studies and Programs (PDF)*Opens in new window
This award recognizes a faculty member for their significant and lasting impact on the advancement of international scholarship, teaching and public service to MSU.

The John K. Hudzik Emerging Leader in Advancing International Studies and Programs Award (PDF)*Opens in new window
This award recognizes and awards a faculty member who is making a significant impact on the advancement of international objectives at MSU early in his/her career.

The Gill-Chin Lim Award for Outstanding Doctoral Dissertation in Global Studies (PDF)*Opens in new window
This award acknowledges a graduate student each year for an outstanding doctoral dissertation completed in the preceding year and focuses on global studies.

The Joon S. Moon Distinguished International Alumni Award (PDF)*Opens in new window

This award is presented in collaboration with MSU alumni association in recognition of an international alum who has brought special credit to MSU through professional achievements and contributions to international understanding.

The Charles A. Gliozzo International Award for Public Diplomacy (PDF)*Opens in new window
This award is presented to an individual who has made significant contributions to public diplomacy through education, training or promoting knowledge, understanding and communication between MSU faculty and staff, community members and citizens in global societies.

The Glen Taggart Award for Community Contributions (PDF)*Opens in new window

The Taggart Award is given to one or more citizens of Michigan who have made a distinct and sustained contribution to international understanding in their respective communities or in the state  of Michigan at large.

The Award for Outstanding Service to Study Abroad (PDF)*Opens in new window

This award recognizes faculty and staff who help develop and implement study abroad programs.

Special Recognition Award for Promoting International Understanding (PDF)*Opens in new window
This award is occasionally made to faculty and staff who have contributed to internationalizing the campus, but do not meet the criteria for other awards.

The Homer Higbee International Education Awards (PDF)*Opens in new window
The Higbee awards are for MSU students  and a member of the Community Volunteers for International Programs who have made significant contributions to the international communication, understanding and cooperation at MSU through service activities.
