Sao Paulo, Brazil, where MSU faculty helped to establish their graduate program in Business Administration in the 1960s and 1970s, is where the Getulio Vargas Foundation is located.
Faculty from the Political Science and Economics Department and the College of Communication Arts and Sciences at MSU utilized CLACS strategic partnership funds to host a workshop in April (2007), where five professors from the Getulio Vargas Foundation in Brazil were brought to campus to present research and discuss future collaborations in East Lansing.
In December, the Getulio Vargas Foundation will fund and host a similar workshop that will bring eight MSU faculty members to Brazil to present their research. For more information, visit the CLACS Web site at http://www.isp.msu.edu/clacs/.
