Center for Advanced Study of International Development

The Center for Advanced Study of International Development (CASID) promotes and coordinates the study of issues related to international development from the perspective of the social sciences and liberal arts. CASID and the Center for Gender in Global Context (GenCen) have been designated by the U.S. Department of Education as a National Resource Center in International Studies and receive funding under Title VI of the Higher Education Act.

CASID programs and research are focused on a variety of international development topics, including:

  • Development assistance policy
  • Food and hunger
  • Environment
  • Health
  • Poverty
