Governor Snyder greeted in Tokyo by MSU and international partner TUA

Michigan State University hosted a meeting in Tokyo with Michigan Governor Rick Snyder and representatives of state government and MSU's partner institution, Tokyo University of Agriculutre on Tuesday, September 27 to discuss ways the State can help strengthen ties with Japan in the areas of agriculture and rural development. .
MSU is in Tokyo for the 11th annual international student summit on agriculture, food, and the environments at Tokyo University of Agriculture (TUA). Representatives from twenty countries will be participating in the week-long conference. The timing of the conference coincided with Gov. Snyder's visit to Japan. In 2012, the conference will be held at MSU.
MSU is TUA's oldest standing international partner, a relationship that began in 1966.
