    Each November, Michigan State University joins institutions across the country in celebrating International Education Week November 11 through 18. As a special recognition week sponsored by the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Department of Education, International Education Week was established "to promote programs that prepare Americans for a global environment and attract future leaders from abroad to study, learn, and exchange experiences in the United States."

    Along with faculty from Makerere University in Uganda and Tamil Nadu Animal and Veterinary Sciences University in India, MSU faculty are bringing together leading researchers, educators and outreach specialists in veterinary medicine to address shared concerns with human, livestock and wildlife interfacing.

    To make the job hunt a little easier, Career Services and the Office of International Students and Scholars teamed up for the first time to prepare international students at MSU for the largest career fair of the year. The Career Gallery includes new events such as a pre-Career Gallery cram session and an International Student Reception with employers specifically interested in meeting students who want to work in their home country.

    The American Association of Colleges of Teacher Education (AACTE) honored MSUs College of Education with its Best Practice Award for Global and International Teacher Education on February 1, 2006. The award, sponsored by AACTEs Committee on Global and International Teacher Education, recognizes exemplary practice in preparing education professionals for work in intercultural, global, cross-cultural, and international settings. The award was presented at AACTEs 58th Annual Meeting in San Diego
