Biography: Joy M. Campbell, she/her, (B.A. in French and International and Area Studies, Kalamazoo College, M.A. in TESOL, Monterey Institute for International Studies) served as the Executive Associate Director of MSU’s Center for Language Education and Research (CLEAR) from 2004-2019 and in early 2020 was appointed the Fulbright Program Adviser for MSU. She has taught in France (teaching assistantship), Morocco (Peace Corps), and most recently as a full-time faculty member at MSU. She has also done teacher training for EFL and ESL teachers. Joy was awarded the 2017 Distinguished Service Award from the Michigan World Language Association in recognition for outstanding service in World Language education.

In addition to her administrative responsibilities at CLEAR, she oversaw diverse faculty projects, organized summer and onsite workshops, chaired MSU’s World Languages Day event, and conducted workshops about CLEAR and its products at regional and national conferences. She has also been involved with MSU’s FLTA programs in various ways.

In her role as Fulbright Program Adviser, Joy works with undergraduate and graduate students, assisting them throughout the Fulbright application process, in addition to publicizing the various Fulbright programs and serving as a liaison to constituents both on and off campus.
