On last Thursday December 14th, VIPP hosted an End of the Year Party to celebrate our achievements of 2017. It was a remarkable year in expanding VIPP's mission as home for today's professionals and tomorrow's leaders. For short-term training programs alone, we organized 22 workshops and provided professional development opportunities to more than 300 people from China, Korea, Kyrgyzstan, Saudi Aribia, South Africa and France. We are proud of our growth in international outreach and professional exchange. The event was held at the MSU Kellogg Hotel. VIPP staff and key faculty and partners attended to enjoy the beautiful event. We had live music, great food, and a raffle. But more importantly, good people made our event more special.

The Year 2017 was a remarkable year for VIPP. We are proud of our achievements and thankful for participants, supporters, and partners.

Joseph Murphy talked about the Saudi trip he went on and connections he made because of VIPP. Dr. Wu, director of VIPP welcomed all guests and thanked their support to VIPP.

The guest of Honor was Ms. Stella Cash, the Senior Advisor and Consultant to the MSU President and Provost for International Engagement.  She assists the President and Provost with a variety of executive duties with special attention to carrying out international responsibilities and donor related opportunities.  She also works with ISP (International Studies and Programs) on international engagement activities.

There were a few performances throughout the night. MSU student, Emily Marie Henley, played the harp and Ms. Jingqing Wu, a VIPP scholar, performed a Chinese Kun Opera. Both performances were met with enthusiastic applause.

The event closed with a raffle: generous gifts were awarded to lucky guests, such as free stays at partner hotels and dinner certificates at the State Room in the Kellogg Center. VIPP is thankful to our event sponsors including TownePlace Suites, Residence Inn Marriott, StayBridge Suites, and Kellogg Hotel. The night came to a close as people said their goodbyes to each other and the year 2017. VIPP looks forward to another great year in 2018.
