2018 VIPP Thanksgiving Potluck

VIPP hosted its annual Thanksgiving Potluck on Friday, November 16th at University Lutheran Church to celebrate the American holiday. VIPP provided traditional American Thanksgiving food such as turkey, stuffing, and mashed potatoes; and VIPP participants brought their own unique dishes to share. It was a fun night to enjoy great food and good company.

The highlight of the event was an Erhu Performance by Li Fulin. Li Fulin played the song "Beautiful Myth" on his erhu, a traditional Chinese two-stringed bowed musical instrument.

That night, the winners of the 2018 VIPP Photo Essay Contest were also announced. Every year, VIPP hosts a photo essay contest called "America through your Lens."

The winners of the 2018 VIPP Photo Essay Contest are:

1st Place ($150 cash prize): Discovery of Animals in MSU by Xiaoling Hu

2nd Place ($100 cash prize): Spartan Planet by Linyuan Fan

3rd Place ($50 cash prize): You'll Fall in Love at First Sight by Yingqing Zhou

Second place winner, Linyuan Fan, and VIPP's Director, Dr. Xinyu Wu

The potluck was a great success with a lot of food and laughs. VIPP looks forward to celebrating Thanksgiving with its participants for many years to come!
