The Joon S. Moon Distinguished International Alumni Award recognizes alumni who came to MSU as international students for outstanding leadership and contributions in or to the international field or communities, organizations, companies, agencies, individuals, and/or governments internationally. Other criteria include demonstrated sustained commitment to international activities and public service.

To submit a nomination, submit a Joon S. Moon Distinguished International Alumni Award nomination form that includes:

• a letter of nomination, no longer than two pages, which describes the nominee's leadership and contributions to the international sphere, including how the nominee has demonstrated distinguished achievement in his/her profession, leadership internationally, and sustained commitment to international activities; has contributed internationally to communities, organizations, agencies, individuals and/or government; and has been a credit to MSU through personal achievements and character
• The nominee's curriculum vitae or resume
