International Student Essay Contest

The goal of MSU's International Student Essay Contest is to build greater cross-cultural understanding and to learn from the experiences of international students. Living outside one's own culture can trigger a complex range of feelings that lead to powerful insights. This essay contest is an opportunity for international students to reflect on their experiences and share their stories as international students at MSU.
First Prize: $1,000
Second Prize: $500
Third Prize: $250
"Overcoming Challenges: Learning Abroad in a Time of Global Change." How has your time at MSU challenged you to grow? What have you learned about yourself? We want to hear your stories!
MSU undergraduate or graduate international students maintaining F or J status
No more than four pages, typed, double-spaced, name and email on top of the front or cover page.
All or parts of winning and non-winning essays might be published on the OISS website. By submitting your entry, you agree that your entry can be used in this way
1. Save your essay as a .doc or .docx file (Word)
2. On the top left side of your first page include your: full first & last name as well as your MSU email address.
3. Visit the following link: to upload your essay. 
4. You must be signed into your MSU email to access.
