Ofarid Amidkhonov is a seasoned professional with more than a decade of executive experience in project development, project implementation, procurement and contract management, risk management, finance management, and IT technology. With a deep awareness of his country’s challenges and a strategic vision for addressing them, he is committed to advancing rural electrification through public-private partnerships across Asia. Currently, Ofarid Amidkhonov is the Head of Regional Projects Development and Implementation at Industrial Promotion Services (IPS) Energy Asia, a subsidiary of the Aga Khan Fund for Economic Development, where he spearheads rural electrification initiatives in Tajikistan, Afghanistan, and Pakistan. Ofarid identifies pressing issues, formulates innovative solutions, and mobilizes resources to address critical challenges all while collaborating effectively with stakeholders, navigating complex bureaucratic processes, and driving tangible, positive change for communities in need.

As a Humphrey Fellow, Ofarid aims to enhance his project and finance management skills, deepen his understanding of policy formulation tailored to specific country contexts, and gain insights into optimizing private-public sector collaborations. Ultimately, Ofarid views himself as strategically positioned to drive transformative change in the energy sector across Asia, leading to improved livelihoods, increased agricultural productivity, and greater access to education and healthcare services.
