Hamid Karim is a civil servant with over a decade of experience at the federal level who is committed to mobilizing climate finance for Pakistan. As Deputy Secretary at the Ministry of Economic Affairs of the Government of Pakistan, Hamid Karim is responsible for coordinating external economic assistance from foreign governments and international financial institutions to fund important projects for the country’s development. He has worked with development partners on projects related to climate action, health, and education.

Hamid sees the Humphrey Fellowship as an opportunity to gain professional experience and a better understanding of the challenges in accessing climate finance, explore innovative approaches for assessing proposed development projects, and networking with other professionals and US based organizations in the field. His ultimate goal is to bring together the development and social sectors in addressing the development needs by accessing the needed climate finance for the sustainable economic development of Pakistan.
