Abneusa Manuel, Mozambique

Abnesua Manuel is an innovative leader passionate about leveraging technology and innovative financial solutions to address the needs of her country. Abneusa is currently Senior Business Analyst at Vodafone M-Pesa, Africa's most successful mobile money service and the region's largest fintech platform. In this role, she facilitates collaboration between the business and technical teams to deliver groundbreaking financial products and services, including a digital funeral insurance service, the first mobile money crowdfunding platform in Mozambique, and many other self-service initiatives. Abneusa has also led the largest community of software developers in Mozambique, Mozdevz. Her professional interests include financial literacy, youth empowerment, and program development.

During her Humphrey Fellowship, Abneusa aims to take courses on developing and managing financial products, explore the intersection of business development and financial services, and investigate strategies to develop sustainable startup ecosystems. Ultimately, Abneusa plans to apply the knowledge and skills gained over the fellowship to drive financial inclusion, support startup ecosystems, and promote financial literacy in Mozambique.
